Online Relationships.

Kay, I'm SO sorry to spam your inbox, I forgot to put this here!!

I REALLY want to know your view on online relationships. Or if you've ever been in one.

This has to do with me and *Ninjatic
My parents pressure me a lot, saying that for all I know, he could be some GUY who may even live in the US (maybe even down the street from me) and he's totally playing me out, etc etc. And they said that even fakes can be really good artists, and they spend their LIVES being online predators.
I'm still open to the fact that he's not legit (like o.1%....I'm almost sure he is who he says he is and stuff...he's even got 2 sisters that I've met online....LOTS of pictures of them...and yeah, that could be faked too!)
EVERYTHING could be faked. The pictures, everything he says, the way he acts, his videos, etc.
(sorry if that's too much information. It's really getting to me though. :/ )

But I'd really like to hear your input about online relationships like this. It's not like I met the guy on MySpace or Yahoo chat. :/

But yeah, me and him have been together for a while and my parents found out...I'm not allowed on msn messenger anymore, and my parents put parental controls (SafeEyes, it's called.) on my computer to track everything I do, including what I'm typing right now.

But I'd like to see what people who have more experience with it would say.

Oh, and by the way, ALL OF YOU COULD BE FAKE FOR ALL I KNOW.

Well, personally. I think its alright for you to have an online relationship if you don't give out any really personal information. Not until you get the chance to meet the person face to face. And then not even then should you give out alot of things.

Just be wary of what you give out and everything should be okay. <3333 :]

I have much firsthand experience with this very thing. In fact, here on good ol' DA is where my first girlfriend and I met.
My story's actually quite similar to your's. lol
I'm not so experienced that I would be in a postion to tell you how exactly to go about it, but the online thing can certainly have good results, so I'd say go for it. ^__^

My mom was all up my ass about that kind of thing too.
Although if you are aware about that fact, you shouldn't have any problems.

I haven't really been into an online 'relationship' like lovey-dovey, but I do have a really good friend I've met ONLINE and we've been friends ever since, I know her in real life now as well.

Personally if it doesn't seem fishy to you, you shouldn't worry about it. I'd keep the relationship going. O_o;

im actually glad you wrote something like this. I have had many difficulties with online relationships. To be honest, if they aren't legit, you'd be able to tell in a month or so. So it depends how long you've been together.

If he had other intentions, he wouldn't bother playing along with it so long. Lets say he's some sex crazed maniac. (LAWL 8D) well, he would just want his sex and be gone right? Plus, they wouldn't wait for it. CAUSE THEY R NEED SEX NAO! >__>

one guy asked me out last year over the internet, and i thought he was pretty cool. And he treated me very nice and said such great things. Befor I knew it, he was doing TEH CYBER SEX D:> , and that's when I knew he wasn't realy looking for love.

These bad types of people wouldn't play along for a year just for sex or nude pictures.

At one point, I thought it was ok. But after bad experiences, I dont think its a good idea. How long you been togther?

It's becoming more and more commonplace for online relationships, and plenty work out. Some have wound up in happy marriages. It's rather prejudice to be against them. It's just that they have that stigma with them.
Again, like I said, as long as they are handled with care they're fine. And I think first meetups should always be in groups to make sure they are indeed safe and legit ^^
